Dr. Hideki Okumura graduated from Osaka Dental University in 1995, and later received his PhD in Medical Science from Kyoto University Graduate School in 1999. Since 2002, he has been the director of Dental Clinic Orallia, located in the heart of Kobe Japan, which is dedicated primarily to providing advanced endodontic treatment.
Dr. Okumura has studied under Dr. Clifford J. Ruddle for over two decades and is one of the few clinicians in Japan to have extensively studied and applied Dr. Ruddle’s philosophy of endodontics in daily clinical practice. He has maintained a close professional relationship with Dr. Ruddle through continued education and clinical exchange.
Dr. Okumura’s clinical work focuses on both complex endodontic treatment and retreatment, emphasizing modern concepts such as anatomical understanding, advanced irrigation, and CBCT-based diagnosis. His articles have been published in Japanese and international dental journals, including Dentistry Today, and he has given numerous lectures to key opinion leaders and educational institutions within Japan. He has been an official trainer of ProTaper in Japan for over twenty years.
